Prevention Strategies: Because educating youth about the dangers of drug or alcohol use before they start using is the key to preventing problems later, Youth First has identified research-proven prevention programs that can be introduced to community schools and agencies where a need has been identified. Some programs target only children, whereas others involve both parents and children.

Intervention/Treatment Strategies: Let's face it - some kids will experiment with drugs or alcohol no matter how well educated they may be about the subject. That's why Youth First has developed a strategy to intervene and help secure treatment for area youth while they're in the early stages of chemical dependency.
